During the summer solstice on the day of San Juan, goat herders from Orotava Valley arrive to a calm harbour in Puerto de la Cruz, to dip their goats in the sea. It is an old tradition with ancient roots, called El Baño de las Cabras. Beneficial for the animals and serves as a fertility ritual.
